Specific skills is a specific skills required for the occupations. Some of the specialise skills are transferable through other occupations though they are not common like basic skills.
What are Technology Skills?
Technology has been a vital tools in daily task. The technology skill refers to skill in using certain technology to increase efficiency in completing the jobs.
How is MyNSR different from other skill frameworks?
MyNSR is a skill taxonomy that covers all occupations in MASCO at 4-digit level, that is used as a standard reference of skills in Malaysia. MyNSR is tied to specific sectors or provide a career pathway guideline. Instead, it provides the information on skills that are used in Malaysia, for each occupation.
What is the MyNSR used for?
Different group of people will have different use of MyNSR. Below are some of the uses for each group of stakeholders:
Individuals
MyNSR can improve job matching by systematically linking the skills required in one occupation to another. Individuals can determine their own common and transferable skills, analyse their skills gaps and look up for training opportunities.
Industry
Companies from varies industries would have a better understanding in job requirement which subsequently provide chances for skill development, employment and career progression towards their employee once MyNSR is adopted.
Policy makers and Researcher
MyNSR also provides a more detailed framework to identify critical skills and potential labour market skills gaps. Policy makers and researchers could conduct a more stuctural studies in developing training to increase numbers of skilled person.
How are the occupations classified in the MyNSR and what are the occupations that the MyNSR covers?
The occupations are classified based on the 4-Digit Malaysia Standard Classification of Occupations (MASCO). MASCO is a national standard for classifying occupations in Malaysia, which was developed based on the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO).
Currently, in the pilot phase, MyNSR covers 68 occupations based on occupation listed in MyCOL 20/21 and MyCOL 22/23. The aim is to cover more MASCO 4D occupations in the future.
